So that's where my name came from

I was in class today learning all about maps and the guest speaker was talking about how for the most part in the northern hemisphere maps are printed "North up." After he said "north up" a few times I realized that it sounded quite familiar... now I wonder if my family was a one time mapmakers... I also wonder who in the past added in the extra letter, but maybe I will learn that in a later class!
